Decatur Island House

This house is nestled into a steep wooded hillside on Decatur Island. Broken into three elements that are strung along a central axis, the house takes full advantage of the difficult but beautiful site. Bedrooms are situated in separate buildings at opposite ends of the house, flanking a central living room. Small decks interact with the sloping hillside, making access to the surrounding property both easy and natural. Tall windows are spaced apart to focus on specific views and vantage points—rather than telling the whole story in one glance.
