Everegreen PointThe design for this lakefront house explores two axes, one aligned to the property line, the other shifted to the north, opening the house toward the primary view. A small separate garage building aligns to one wing of the house and a kayak shed below by the water. The kitchen, dining room, master suite and family bedrooms occupy this wing. The opposite wing and connecting great room shift, creating a patio that opens toward the lake. The other wing contains two offices, a small theater, double-height library, and guest suite. The house was designed with the idea of creating only spaces that were used regularly. In order to accommodate that the entertaining spaces are more intimately scaled but have adjoining spaces that allow people to expand beyond them for larger gatherings. |
