Suncadia
This house is currently under construction in the Suncadia development east of the Cascades in Washington State. With the potential for near neighbors on both sides and the need for shelter from sun and wind the house is designed around two courtyards open to the east and west. The eastern courtyard is flanked by two single garages. Covered porches lead to a central great room. The great room opens both ways and frames an opening from the entry to the view beyond. By organizing the building into an H-shape every major room has light on at least two sides. Two loft spaces are connected through the trusses at the ceiling of the great room by a bridge. |
